Middlesex County, Department of Consumer Affairs Goes On-line with Their New Case Management System
August 29th, 2001
On August 29, 2001, the Department of Consumer Affairs in Middlesex County, New Jersey went on-line with their new case management system, which was developed by CSI Technology Group of Edison, New Jersey. The Consumer Affairs Office now joins the Prosecutor's and Sheriff's offices in Middlesex County which went on-line earlier this year with their new case management system, also developed by CSI Technology Group.
The application is based upon CSI's InfoShare case and document management application for prosecutor's offices and is customized for the Consumer Affairs Office. It will handle the entire consumer complaint process, from when the initial complaint is sent in, all the way through the investigation of the complaint and through litigation for those cases that go to court. A new feature of InfoShare designed specifically for the Consumer Affairs Office, allows a consumer to file a complaint on-line. The information when entered on-line, will go directly into a "Complaint Pending" list in the case management database. When a staff member from the Office reviews the complaint they may either "approve" or "disapprove" the complaint. When approved, the information entered by the consumer will automatically be transferred into the new case, saving a great deal of time and data entry for the Consumer Affairs staff.
