Intelligence Module Designed for Special Operations
Febuary 11th, 2004
Keasbey, NJ, February 11,
2004 - At the request of the Camden County Intelligence
Unit, CSI has designed an application for the retention
of intelligence or surveillance information, which is
not related to specific criminal investigations. US
Department of Justice and NJ Attorney General guidelines
require that such data be separate from criminal files
and that subjects'; records have specific requirements
for identification and purge after a period of inactivity.
The new Intelligence Module allows users to maintain
information on subjects and/or broad surveillance activities
undertaken by the special operations unit. The subject
records may be linked with other Subject records in
the system as "associates" or "affiliations";
which permit the agent to find all subjects affiliated
with a particular individual or organization. A "sources"
record permits the agent to classify the sources and
reliability of information appearing in the record set
and reports.
The module includes a number of specific searches to
permit agents to call up a listing of all subject records
with a common variable or set of variables. The search
engine organizes the information for the agents to review
subject records and reports for their specific interest.
Another special feature was designed to permit agents
to upload digital images in a quick "batch";
format and to associate to a subject record or surveillance
case.
Like all other InfoShare modules, this module has security
features that only permit authorized users to locate
and view information. The new Intelligence module is
another example of the flexibility of the InfoShare
application and its customization to user requirements.
