State of Hawaii Department of Labor and Industrial Relations' Employment Security Appeals System Contract Was Awarded to CSI Technology Group June 28th, 2001

On June 28^th, 2001, CSI Technology Group, Inc. was awarded a contract for the development and implementation of a state wide Employment Security Appeals System for use by the State of Hawaii Department of Labor and Industrial Relations. The application is based upon CSI's InfoShare case and document management application. The proposed system will convert the manual activities of the Employment Security Appeals Referee's Office to an automated environment permitting the Office to operate more efficiently, to deliver prompt decisions, to meet federal time-lapse requirements without interfering with the integrity of the program and to provide documentation for each of the mandated steps.

The Employment Security Appeals System will be a tool for use by agency personnel that will allow each user with the proper security permissions to input or monitor each case and its details through its initiation and subsequent disposition. The application will include the ability to monitor the essential components of case management, including but not limited to the Case Initiation/ Management System itself, Case Assignment, Hearing Notice and Agenda, Case Documentation, Forms Generation, Security Clearance, Scheduling/Calendaring, E-mail, and Reporting functionalities. This tool, however, will conform to the existing business rules and processes, and be flexible enough to be modified as the needs and business processes of the organization change.

The resulting application will permit each employee and their Supervisors to more efficiently manage and monitor each appeal, Appeals Officers, and the Federal time lapse requirements pursuant to the Unemployment Tax Act, 26 U.S.C. 3301 et seq; Social Security Act, 42 U.S.C. 501 et seq; Hawaii Revised Statutes, Chapter 383 Hawaii Employment Security Law; and Chapter 91 Administrative procedures.
