CSI announces the deployment of the InfoShare Megan’s Law module in the Sussex and Monmouth county Prosecutor’s Offices.

June 8, 2010 The Sussex County Prosecutors Office went live with the Megan’s Law module followed by the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office on July 19, 2010.

The Megan’s Law module was designed specifically to meet all the tracking and institutional mapping requirements for released sex offenders in accordance with New Jersey state law. The record set includes biographical data on the sex offender, resident and employment addresses, registrations, re-registrations and the tracking and reporting of the offender’s failure to re-register.

The module has three unique features to assist Megan’s Law personnel:

  • An automatic multi-step process to track each offender from the first registration through the tier classification, institutional mapping, court review and approval process to the documentation of required notices and the offenders required 90 day or annual re-registrations. Additional steps have been programmed when the offender moves within the county for re-mapping, court review and approval and creation of another set of notices to the affected institutions.

  • Importantly, for each step of the process, the system will automatically generate correspondence to the offender, the court, police department and notices to schools and other community organizations, in accordance with the tier classification requirements. This save support a significant amount of time for the production of correspondence and notices for each offender registration.

  • A set of quick search features permits investigators to locate records on one or more registrants on the basis of process status, physical characteristics or geographical location. The system will also produce reports on all registrants due or overdue re-registration dates and has a function to email the reports directly to the local police.

The Megan’s Law module is integrated with a Microsoft mapping application for the production of maps citing all affected institutions within the tier level geographic area of the registrant’s addresses. The maps are then saved to the system to create a record of the Prosecutor’s recommendations as well as final maps approved by the court.

Digital images of the registrants can be easily uploaded to the record set and will post to Notification Flyer for distribution to the affected institutions. All flyer and letter templates can be customized to suite the agency’s needs.
